Mrs Bevan: The president of the bingo club, very much set in her ways, does not appreciate – no, not the least little bit – the behaviour of Jim and his family. At the head of the anti-pirate collective, she organises action after action: petitions, demonstrations, fund raising (for repairs to the ship so they get back to sea as soon as possible!), etc. She is always first to lay the blame at their door whenever a problem crops up in town.
