Max is the gunner. The fact that he looks like a puny little four-eyes has often triggered mocking remarks from Brent and his gang. So Max has had to learn to protect himself. He’s learned to turn any everyday object into a weapon of defence. He’s in charge of the secret hideout and he’s rigged it up with a whole load of pirate gadgets. Max is a geek, but he’s an “old school” geek. He loves mechanisms and his pockets are always stuffed with picks, springs and skeleton key type things. Compasses, telescopes, pulleys and ropes hold no secrets for him. It goes without saying that no chest can resist him. In short, he’s a budding MacGyver, but without the awful haircut!
